Character Education
We are continuing to develop our Character Education program at Ramsey. Throughout the year the children focus on six character traits. These include:
The students are actively involved in our Character Education program. They participate in a variety of activities and learning experiences including, doing the morning announcements, attending award assemblies, making bulletin boards, singing Character Education songs, and working on classroom projects.
Teachers look for children exhibiting good character traits. The children are awarded for demonstrating good character by earning special stickers and certificates. Every month a calendar is sent home highlighting one of the six character traits. Each day offers a special “tip” for showing good character. Parents are encouraged to continue the Character Education program at home. Our Character Education program also reaches out to help the community with collections for various charitable organizations. Throughout the past years we have collected donations for such organizations as the SPCA, the Red Cross, Pocono Wildlife Rehab Center, and Toys for Tots.
The faculty and staff at Ramsey are very excited about continuing the Character Education program. We believe that developing character is a life-long process, one that requires attention at the earliest stages of learning.
